The Potato Sack Reunion – 2011’s biggest indie game pack returns to Steam

In an unexpected turn of events, it would appear that the Potato Sack has returned on Steam for this week’s Midweek Madness. You might recall that last year, this 13-game indie game collection served as the Valve fanbase’s introduction into the Potato Fools’ Day ARG that preceded Portal 2’s release. Featuring all sorts of crazy challenges, puzzles, and objectives, the Potato Sack was, presumably, a huge success.

Which makes it even more interesting to see it return now. It still features the same 13 games that it did last year (although Aaaaa!!! for the Awesome, which was released after Potato Fools’ Day, has now replaced its predecessor, Aaaaa!!! – A Reckless Disregard For Gravity) for, as far as I know, the same price.

Unlike last time, buyers won’t receive any TF2 or Portal 2 promotional items for buying the Sack, and so far, there don’t seem to be any traces of new ARG update content within the files, nor has the old ARG content been re-activated, with the exception of the Trader GLaDOS Sphere in Killing Floor (I’ve also heard that some of the Killing Floor achievements have been re-activated, but I’m unsure at the moment). Still, I’m keeping my eye on this thing – who knows what Valve is up to these days?

Since it’s not on any kind of sale, I’m going to assume that when Midweek Madness ends (Thursday at 4PM Pacific time), the Potato Sack Reunion will also end. Which means you’d best hurry if you want to buy it!
