Welcome!
I am TheLostSoul, and my job on this website will be to review games. I will mostly be focusing on Mods, but if I see a good game or am asked to review a game, I will.
Now, onto the review!
Obsidian Conflict is a mod made by Obsidian conflict team (how original). It is a multiplayer co-op and deathmatch mod that combines some of the original elements of Half-Life 2: Deathmatch with some new ideas. These include new weapons, new maps, and a revamped HUD. The game also brings back some old weapons and maps from the fist Half-Life. It runs in a mostly linear mode, where you complete short adventures that are little spin-offs of the main storyline. These adventures are mostly straightforward and the “sandbox” idea from HL2 was removed.
But, I can’t help feeling this has been done before. It seems like just another deathmatch Mod with the same game modes with a relatively similar story — which would explain why half the time, the servers are empty. Although some of the ideas may be new, and it is cool to see some of the old weapons again, it really feels like it is missing something…
Obsidian Conflict is a good mod if you have a group of willing friends (or willing enemies), but don’t expect to jump into a running server, and don’t play if you aren’t willing to play a mod relativity similar to Half-Life 2. But if you can find the group, then you may be in for a fun surprise!

Ratings
Overall impression:
Graphics: Standard source engine graphics.
Originality: The addition of new weapons is always nice to see.
Number of Players: In my play-through, i ended up seeing around 10 other people in all the servers.
Re-playability: This game isn’t one that you would pick up often, or at all after you play it. There isn’t much to really come back to
Gameplay: The maps were incredibly well thought out, and it was a fun experience even after multiple plays.
Difficulty: After you master the point-and-shoot fps style, and you find that the AI is not smart enough to doge a bullet, you will find it kind of dull.
Multiplayer: #1 problem: not enough players #2 problem: no way to know when the game is updated, and you aren’t allowed on any servers without the newest version.
